Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf has been fined 30 per cent of his match fees for the rude and aggressive behaviour during their Asia Cup 2025 Super Four tie against India at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.
His teammate, Sahibzada Farhan, who celebrated his half-century with a controversial AK-47 pose in the same match, escaped with a warning without any financial penalty
"Match referee Richie Richardson had completed his hearing on Friday afternoon at the team hotel. Hars Rauf has been fined 30 percent of his match fees for aggressive behaviour and Farhan has been let off with a warning," a tournament source told Sports Tak.
Sports Tak earlier reported that the duo Rauf and Farhan had pleaded not guilty during their ICC hearing for allegedly provocative actions during their last clash against India. The hearing was conducted at Pakistan's team hotel by match referee Richie Richardson. Both Rauf and Farhan were there alongside the team manager, Naveed Akram Cheema.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) filed a formal complaint against Pakistan, accusing them of making provocative gestures during the last outing.
Notably, India and Pakistan have faced each other twice in the Asia Cup 2025, where the Suryakumar Yadav-led side defeated the Men in Green in both outings with seven and six wickets respectively. Both India and Pakistan will now face each other in the final of the Asia Cup 2025 on September 28, which will take place at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.
Pakistan's performance in the Asia Cup 2025
Pakistan have played six matches in the Asia Cup 2025, where they have lost two clashes, both against India, and now the Men in Green will look for another plan for the title decider of the continental tournament.
