India captain Suryakumar Yadav has won the toss and opted to bat first against India at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Defending champions India have featured with two changes as Harshit Rana comes in place of Varun Chakravarthy and Arshdeep Singh has been included in the playing XI in place of pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.
During the toss, India captain Suryakumar Yadav replicated what fans witnessed a lot of time from the former skipper Rohit Sharma, who forgets about the team combination. After forgetting the change, Surya humurously admitted that he had become like Rohit.
"Suryakumar Yadav: We are looking to bat first. We have not batted first in this competition and we want to know our depth. Having game time is important going into the Super 4s. We want to continue the good habits we are doing in the first two games and want to continue to do that. It is looking nice, and our openers will assess it further. We have two changes - Harshit comes in, one more guy comes in, I have become like Rohit (laughs)" said Suryakumar Yadav and toss.
Not only Suryakumar Yadav, but Oman captain Jatinder Singh also revealed the side will feature with two changes, and he also forgot the combination.
"Would have batted first. It is a great experience to take from here. Our team is young, lack exposure but this gives them a good chance to come here and test themselves. It is a great opportunity to share the field with India and get a look at their mindset. We have two changes" said Jatinder Singh at toss.
