India captain Suryakumar Yadav has been brutally slammed by the netizens after the young opening batter Abhishek Sharma got run out on 75 runs during the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four clash against Bangladesh at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. The southpaw is currently the highest run-getter in the mega event, scoring 248 runs in five outings with an average of 62, including two half-centuries.
Abhishek, who got out on 74 runs during India's first Super Four tie against Pakistan, was looking in great touch, smashing 75 off 37, including five sixes and four boundaries but the batter got dismissed after he failed to complete the run. The incident happened during the first ball of the 12th over when Suryakumar Yadav cut it towards backward point, where Rishad Hossain stopped it with a dive. The non-striker leaves his crease looking for a single, but is sent back. Rishad waits for a moment and fires a flat throw at the bowler's end. Mustafizur is equally calm while gathering the throw, and he whips off the bails before the batter can get back with a dive. Soon after Abhishek's dismissal, Twitterati started blaming the India captain for his dismissal.
Earlier, Bangladesh's stand-in captain Jaker Ali won the toss and opted to bowl against India in their second Asia Cup 2025 clash. Ali was appointed as captain because the regular skipper, Litton Das, sustained an injury during the practice session ahead of the game.
