Story Highlights:

India beat Pakistan by six wickets.

Tilak Varma played an match-winning 30 run knock vs Pakistan.

India's batting all-rounder Tilak Varma received the BCCI-introduced dressing room ‘Impact Player of the Match’ medal for his performance in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four clash against Pakistan at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. India defeated Pakistan by six wickets in their first Super 4 clash to maintain their winning streak in the mega event.

Tilak played an unbeaten match, winning a 30-run knock against Pakistan. He was the one who smashed a four to Shaheen Shah Afridi to finish the match in 18.5 overs. The Mumbai batter received his medal from Raghavendra Dwivedi, who is a part of Gautam Gambhir-led support staff and a highly regarded throwdown specialist for the Indian Cricket Team, working under the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

"I was thinking of finishing the last two games as well, but was unable to finish. Today, it's my turn to do for the team. I will keep trying in the entire tournament, as the Gauti (Gautam Gambhir) sir said, till the World Cup, we will keep learning and keep moving forward" said Tilak Varma after clinching the medal.

Coming back to the match, Pakistan started their batting with all guns blazing as Fakhar Zaman and Sahibzada Farhan put up a 72-run stand, lifting the score to 91 for 1 at the halfway stage. However, India's Shivam Dube removed both set batters, and India’s spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy bowled economical spells. Pakistan’s innings lost direction. The side managed to score just 30 runs from 11 to 16 overs. However, Faheem Ashraf’s cameo of 20 from 8 balls helped the Men in Green to put 171 on board.

While chasing 172 runs, India openers Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma smashed Pakistan bowlers all over the ground, hammering 105 runs together in just 59 deliveries. Abhishek smashed 74 off 39 balls, while Gill’s 47 off 28 provided the perfect foil. Pakistan's bowling unit looked helpless, and India chased down the target in just 18.5 overs.
