Jadeja took just 175 innings to complete his 200 ODI wickets and became only the seventh Indian to do so in ODIs. Apparently, the star all-rounder has become the first India left-arm spinner to scalp 200 ODI wickets. Overall third Indian spinner after Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble to bag this special feat.

The memorable moment arrived when Jadeja trapped Bangladesh's Shamim Hossain leg before wicket, sealing his place in the exclusive 200-wicket club. Over the course of his illustrious ODI career, the 34-year-old has showcased consistent brilliance, which includes seven instances where he took four wickets and one memorable five-wicket haul. A significant highlight of his journey remains his career-best figures of 5/36, which he achieved against the West Indies back in 2013. This was during the much-acclaimed ICC Champions Trophy held at the Oval.

Reflecting on the starting point of this wicket-taking journey, Jadeja's initiation into the ODI wicket-takers club began with a bang, claiming none other than Australia's legendary Ricky Ponting as his maiden scalp. This happened during an ODI against Australia in Vadodara in 2009.

As Jadeja continues to script his legacy in ODIs, he is poised just 54 wickets short of surpassing the iconic Kapil Dev. Achieving this would elevate him to the sixth position among India’s highest ODI wicket-takers, showcasing his evolving dominance in the limited-overs format. Jadeja returned with a bowling figure of 1/53.
