After being completely outplayed in the first two Test matches, Australia registered an emphatic win in the third Test in Indore on March 03 (Friday). The Baggy Greens pocketed the game by nine wickets as the match lasted for just six-and-a-half sessions. Right-arm off-spinner Nathan Lyon was the protagonist behind Australia's win as he weaved his magic and ripped through the Indian batting line-up. Lyon followed up his first innings' three-wicket with an incredible eight-wicket haul in the second innings to make Indian batters dance to his tunes.

India captain Rohit Shama spoke highly of Lyon after the completion of Indore Test and ranked the Aussie veteran as the best overseas spinner in the business.

"He should be at the top in my opinion. Obviously I haven't played guys like Murali or Shane Warne. But among the current crop, he would probably be the No.1 overseas bowler to come and play in India," Rohit said in a post-match press conference.

"He has got so much consistency in his line and length. When you have someone with that amount of accuracy, you need to try and do something different in terms of scoring runs because you know he will not give you anything easy. This is probably his third tour to India. I wasn't part of team during his first tour but I watched the game. He is a very experienced bowler and is not afraid of getting hit. That gives the captain a lot of confidence because he knows he has a guy who that he is going to pitch it there and let the pitch do the remaining," he opined.

Lyon (23.3-1-64-8) stormed into history books as he leapfrogged India's ace spinners Anil Kumble and Ravichandran Ashwin to bag a rare milestone in the Border-Gavaskar series. Lyon became the bowler with most wickets in the history of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The top-notch spinner, who has 102 scalps against his name before the start of the third Test. Now with three wickets in the first innings and eight-wickets in the second he has took his wicket tally on Border-Gavaskar series to 113 in 25 matches to top the chart. Meanwhile, legendary India spinner Kumble now holds second spot with 111 scalps.
