Hardik just needs a boundary to surpass former India captain MS Dhoni for the most fours for India in T20Is. Apart from that Hardik has 1562 T20I runs to his name, and if he scores 56 runs in the Delhi T20I, he will go past MS Dhoni on the list of most successful batters for India in the shortest format.

Hardik scored 39 not out of 16 balls in the first T20I against Bangladesh which was played at Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. He bowled a clinical spell, finishing with impressive figures of one for 26 in his four overs which helped India to win the clash by seven wickets the Men in Blue are currently leading 1-0 in three T20I series. Hardik broke the record of former India captain Virat Kohli in the 1st T20I by finishing most T20I matches with a six. Hardik has finished a T20I match for India with a six a total of five times, overtaking Virat's previous record of doing so four times. With his one scalp against Bangladesh, Hardik  (87 wickets) overtook pacer Arshdeep Singh (86 wickets) to become India's fourth-highest wicket-taker in the shortest format. The leading wicket-taker for India is spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, with 96 scalps.
