India pulverise Bangladesh to sweep T20I series 3-0

Led by exceptional batting and bowling performances, India bulldozed Bangladesh by 133 runs to complete a series whitewash 3-0, thanks to Sanju Samson's stunning century. This victory marks the largest margin of victory against Bangladesh in T20I history, surpassing South Africa's previous record of 104 runs set in the T20 World Cup 2022.

This was also India's 10th clean sweep in 34 T20I series overall. This continued their dominance over Bangladesh, following their recent 2-0 victory in the Test series.

Sanju Samson wreaks havoc with splendid century

India's innings was a thrilling spectacle, culminating in a massive total of 297 for six. This was the second-highest innings total in T20I history, surpassed only by Nepal's 314 for three against Mongolia last year. India comfortably surpassed their previous best T20I score of 260 for six against Sri Lanka in 2017.

Bangladesh, facing a daunting target, struggled to chase down the total and ultimately lost by a significant 133 runs.

The 24,000-plus crowd at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium witnessed a captivating performance from Samson and Suryakumar, who formed a powerful partnership of 173 runs for the second wicket in just 70 deliveries.

Samson began the innings confidently, driving Taskin Ahmed through cover and flicking him past midwicket. He then dominated leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, hitting five consecutive sixes in the tenth over. Rishad, like many of his teammates, struggled with his length and was punished.

Samson's class was evident in his beautifully timed back foot drive through the covers against Mustafizur Rahman.

The Kerala wicketkeeper-batter reached his maiden T20I century in just 40 balls, celebrating with a wide smile and flexing his arms. This achievement marked the second-fastest T20I century by an Indian batsman.

Suryakumar, Hardik, Riyan's blistering knock propel India to colossal total

Captain Suryakumar Yadav (75 off 35) also entertained the crowd with his aggressive batting. He skillfully executed a scoop shot against Tanzim Hasan Sakib's bouncer, clearing it over the wicketkeeper's head for a six. Suryakumar's confidence was evident, as he remained unfazed even by Taskin's dangerous deliveries.

The partnership between Samson and Suryakumar propelled India to an impressive score of 152 for one at the end of the 10th over.

Bangladesh batters perish under pressure in big run chase

Bangladesh's struggles continued even after Samson and Suryakumar were dismissed. Riyan Parag (34 off 13) and Hardik Pandya (47 off 18) took center stage, scoring 70 runs for the fourth wicket.

In reply, Bangladesh batters perished under pressure and could only score 167/4 while chasing a mammoth target.

Bangladesh's innings began with a setback, as Parvez Hossain Emon was dismissed by Mayank Yadav in the first over. The visitors faced further challenges when wrist spinner Ravi Bishnoi, replacing Arshdeep Singh, claimed three wickets.

Litton (42 off 25) and Towhid Hridoy (63 off 42) attempted to rebuild the innings, contributing significantly to their individual scores despite their team's inevitable defeat. Ravi Bishnoi (3/30) and Mayank Yadav (2/32) were the pick of the bowlers for India. Meanwhile, Hardik was adjudged Player of the series for his all-round heroics throughout the three-match contest.
