Indian captain Rohit Sharma is currently preparing for his upcoming assignment which will be the upcoming two-Test match series against Bangladesh. Team India are currently in Chennai preparing for the first Test match against Bangladesh which is scheduled to start from September 19 and will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The second Test match between India and Bangladesh will be played at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.
This upcoming Test series will be the first red-ball assignment for Gautam Gambhir as a head coach. Gambhir was announced as India's head coach and he will be keen for a winning start. Indian captain Rohit Sharma is in fine form in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 so far, scoring 700 runs in nine matches and 16 innings at an average of 46.66, with three centuries and three fifties. His best score is 131. He is the 12th-highest run-getter in the competition so far.
Rohit has two significant milestones to aim for during the series. Achieving the first will solidify his legacy as the country’s greatest six-hitter. Currently ranked 11th globally with 84 sixes in Tests, Rohit needs just eight more to surpass the legendary Virender Sehwag, who has 91, and become the leading six-hitter for his team in Test cricket.
McCullum (107) and the iconic Australian wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist (100) hold the top spots for the most sixes in Test cricket. If Rohit goes on a six-hitting spree in the upcoming games, he could become the fourth player overall and the first Indian to hit 100 sixes in Tests.

Additionally, Rohit is closing in on his 50th international century. With 48 centuries in 483 matches, he needs just two more to reach the milestone. If he achieves this, he will join an elite group as only the third Indian batter and the 10th player globally to have 50 international centuries. Currently, only Sachin Tendulkar (100 centuries) and Virat Kohli (80 centuries) from India have surpassed the half-century mark in international centuries.
