After a protracted absence, India pacer Jasprit Bumrah returned to competitive cricket with remarkable results, regaining his position as the top Test bowler. In a recent two-match Test series, India defeated Bangladesh 2-0. Bumrah finished with 11 wickets, sharing the most with player-of-the-series Ravichandran Ashwin. The 30-year-old, who was rested from a few white-ball tours after being instrumental in India's victory at the T20 World Cup earlier this year, made his comeback in the Chennai Test against Bangladesh last month. The elite pacer has already begun to consider the next challenge.

"Weathered the challenge Onto the next one," Bumrah captioned his Instagram post shared from his official account on Thursday, in the video he was seen bowling in the nets.

Bumrah is anticipated to play in India's upcoming red-ball series, which begins on October 16 and involves a three-match series against New Zealand. However, he has been rested ahead of the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. He has dealt with stress fracture in the past that had kept him out of action for a considerable amount of time, Bumrah had back surgery last year. After a protracted injury layoff, there were concerns that the bowler may lose his edge, but he has calmed those worries with impressive performances in all formats.

Recently, Bumrah called the Test his favourite cricket format and said that he wants to keep on playing it for as long as possible.

"My favourite format is the Tests; I’ve always said that. I wanted to play this format for a long period of time and I am doing it. I’m trying to give my absolute best in this format,” Bumrah had said on JioCinema.
