On Day 4 of the second Test against Bangladesh, Ravindra Jadeja took the last wicket of Bangladesh’s innings to complete 300 wickets in the format. Jadeja became the third left-arm spinner in the world and first for India to achieve this feat in Test cricket. He also became the fastest all-rounder to complete double of 3,000-plus runs and 300 or more wickets.
Jadeja achieved the feat in his 74th Test. He is the 12th all-rounder to do so. The top spot belongs to England's Ian Botham who reached the milestone in 72 Tests. Jadeja is followed by Pakistan's Imran Khan (75), India's Kapil Dev (83), New Zealand's Richard Hadlee (83), South Africa's Shaun Pollock (87) and his teammate Ravichandran Ashwin (88).
Jadeja became the second quickest Indian bowler to 300 wickets in Tests in terms of deliveries bowled. He breached the 300-wicket mark in 17,428 balls. Ashwin is on top with 15,636 balls.

Jadeja’s 300th scalp was tailender Khaled Ahmed. He took the catch off his own bowling as Bangladesh were bowled out for 233. Jadeja is the seventh Indian bowler to take 300 Test wickets. Anil Kumble is on top with 619 wickets followed by Ashwin (524), Kapil (434), Harbhajan Singh (417), Ishant Sharma (311), Zaheer Khan (311).
Left-arm spinners with 300 or more Test wickets
Only Sri Lanka's Rangana Herath and New Zealand's Daniel Vettori have more than 300 wickets in Test cricket as left-arm spinners. Herath has 433 wickets from 93 Tests including 34 fifers. Vettori has 362 wickets from 113 Tests including 20 five-wicket hauls.

With the bat, Jadeja has 3,122 runs from 106 innings at an average of 36.72 including four centuries and 21 fifties.
Mominul hits ton
While wickets tumbled at the other end, top-order batter Mominul Haque scored his maiden Test century against India. He remained unbeaten for 107 off 194 balls. Jasprit Bumrah claimed three wickets whereas Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep and Ashwing bagged two each as India bowled out Bangladesh for 233.
