India restrict Bangladesh on 76/2 before lunch

Now talking about the match, Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision turned out fine as they managed to get the first breakthrough by the 9th over itself, when Akash Deep dismissed Zakir Hasan on a 24-ball duck. The host struck again and got the second wicket just 22 balls later and this time it was Shadnam Islam returning to the dugout after scoring a 24 off 36 balls. By the 13th over, Akash Deep has dismissed both Bangladesh openers and gave India a good start.

During the lunch break, rain forced the ground to be put under covers however, it soon stopped which only resulted in a delay of 15 minutes. Team India would be eyeing a couple more wickets here and throw the visitors completely on the backfoot. On the other hand, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haque are on the ground with an unbeaten 45-run stand, they would try to take a firm stand for Bangladesh and help them reach a good first innings total.
