Pakistan has released their bowling all-rounder Aamir Jamal ahead of the Rawalpindi test against Bangladesh. Jamal had been earlier named in the squad subject to his fitness. However, he will now head back to the NCA in Lahore to recover for future matches. Pakistan will play two Test matches against Bangladesh scheduled to start on 21 August. Both matches of this series will be played in Rawalpindi. Earlier, the second Test of the series was set to be played in Karachi but has now been shifted as the venue is currently under renovation for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.
"Right-arm fast bowler Aamir Jamal has been released from the Test squad ahead of the series against Bangladesh. Aamir, who was earlier included in the squad subject to fitness clearance, has been advised to work on his fitness at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. Aamir is recovering from a back injury which he sustained while playing county cricket this year. The first Test match between Bangladesh and hosts Pakistan will commence from 21 August at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium," stated PCB in their official statement.

Earlier The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released their mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed and uncapped top-order batter Kamran Ghulam from their squad for the first Test at Rawalpindi against Bangladesh. The duo will now represent Pakistan Shaheens in the second four-day match against Bangladesh ‘A’, starting at the Islamabad Club on Tuesday, 20 August". Ghulam will lead the Shaheens.
Jamal’s short yet impactful stint
The 28-year-old picked up an injury earlier this year during his County stint with Warwickshire where he had mere three appearances across formats. Jamal has featured in three Tests, where he scored 143 runs and picked up 18 wickets, including two five-wicket hauls. His performance in Australia was much talked about during the tour, with cricket experts roping in his name as an all-format player. He proved to be a handy batter in the lower order holding his wicket along with scoring key runs for the side.
