Bangladesh registered their first T20I win on West Indies soil after 15 years as Mahedi Hasan's economical four-fer caused a batting collapse in the run chase. Bangladesh won the first T20I at Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown by seven runs as skipper Rovman Powell's 35-ball 60 went in vain.
Mahedi broke the record for best bowling figures by a visiting spinner against West Indies. The previous record belonged to Pakistan's Shadab Khan with four wickets for 14 runs in Port of Spain seven years ago.
Poor start
Earlier, West Indies skipper Powell won the toss and opted to bowl first. In the third over, Akeal Hosein struck twice to dismiss Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das off consecutive deliveries. In the sixth over, Roston Chase dismissed Afif Hossain. Bangladesh were 32/3 after powerplay overs. Jaker Ali hit the first six of the innings in the eighth over. Camoes help Bangladesh finish well

He was dismissed off the penultimate ball of the innings by McCoy. Mahedi remained unbeaten for 26 off 24 balls as Bangladesh posted 147/6.
Mahedi causes collapse

He scored 20 runs from 12 balls. In his third over, Mahedi struck twice to dismiss Andre Fletcher and Chase. West Indies lost half the side for just 38 runs in the seventh over.
Powell's fifty in losing cause

In the next over, leg-spinner Rishad Hossain got the wicket of Akeal. West Indies were 61/7 in the 12th over.Powell kept the run chase alive. In the 15th over, he smashed Taskin for three sixes. He reached his fifty from 28 balls. In the 18th over, Taskin broke the partnership with Shepherd's wicket. He scored 22 runs from 17 balls. In the final over, the hosts needed 10 runs to win but Hasan Mahmud held his nerve to get the better of Powell and Alzarri Joseph to bowl out West Indies for 140 with one ball left in the innings.
