Afghanistan ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025

South Africa sealed their berth in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal.

Afghanistan becomes the last team to be ruled out from the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side were in contention as they defeated England in their second group stage match. They were supposed to beat Australia in their clash to seal their spot but the match ended without a result.

After Afghanistan vs Australia clash, Shahidi-led side's fortunes were decided by South Africa's third group stage match against England.

For Afghanistan to qualify, England must beat South Africa by at least 207 runs if they bat first, assuming they post a total of over 300. If England chases, they need to reach the target in just 11.1 overs (assuming a 300+ first-innings score).

South Africa bundled out England on just 179 runs to become the fourth team to qualify for the semifinals. Here are the teams and their performances which have qualified for the semifinal.
