Jasprit Bumrah out of mega tournament.

BCCI makes two big changes in squad.

India's premier fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah will miss the 2025 Champions Trophy, which is a huge shock to the country. Bumrah has not fully recovered from the back pain he sustained during the January Sydney Test, which also prevented him from playing in the white-ball series against England. Harshit Rana replaces Bumrah in the Champions Trophy squad. What comes as another big update is that Yashasvi Jaiswal has also been ruled out of the squad and Varun Chakravarthy has been given his spot.

Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy due to a lower back injury. The Men's Selection Committee has named Harshit Rana as Bumrah's replacement. Team India have also named Varun Chakaravarthy in the squad. The spinner will replace Yashasvi Jaiswal who was initially named in the provisional squad.

Bumrah to miss the tournament

It has been reported that Bumrah is not yet fully prepared to resume bowling, even though the most recent scan, which he had over the weekend in Bengaluru, did not show anything concerning. The BCCI's medical staff, who are stationed at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, will keep an eye on his progress. The date of his comeback to bowling has not been confirmed. In a few weeks, he will probably start jogging again, and then he will start bowling a little later.

After missing the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia because of a back condition that ultimately required surgery, this is the second ICC tournament that Bumrah will miss due to injury. All eight participating teams had until February 11 to submit their final 15 for the Champions Trophy, according to the ICC. The tournament's technical committee would have to approve any further modifications. Harshit Rana, who made his ODI debut during the current England series has replaced Bumrah.
