India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has reacted to the fake news doing rounds about his back injury. As per the reports, Bumrah was told for a bed rest until the swelling subsides. It was also reported that Bumrah will not be rushed back to cricket, and is currently having bed rest at his home. The report also suggested that Bumrah will be reporting to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Centre of Excellence  in Bengaluru soon.

"Bumrah could go to the CoE next week but right now there is no fixed date yet. He has been advised bed rest at home to help the muscles recover and the swelling to subside. Once that is done, future course of action will be ascertained," a source told Times of India.

"Bed rest doesn't sound good. I hope it's not a disc bulge or a muscle swelling which is of a higher grade. The approach has to be similar with him wrap him in cotton wool and preserve the talent like him," added the source.

However, Bumrah has rubbished such reports and termed it fake. He took to X and wrote that fake news is easy to spread.

"I know fake news is easy to spread but this made me laugh 😂.  Sources unreliable," Bumrah wrote on X, previously known as Twitter.

Bumrah is coming from a tiring outing in Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia which was a five-match battle. He landed home last week after picking injury during Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He experienced discomfort in his back while bowling and was further forced to leave the field midway through the Sydney Test which India lost by six wickets. The superstar pacer ended up taking 32 wickets across five matches in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to emerge the Player of the series but his efforts went in vain as India lost the series 1-3, ending their dominance in Australia.

However, the final injury report on Bumrah is yet to come which will determine his participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 which is set to start from February 19.
