India's premium pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been praised by former Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir as the world's best fast bowler because he is a complete package. Due to a lower back injury, Bumrah is not participating in India's current Champions Trophy 2025 campaign. After having an incredible 2024 with the ball, the speedster was performing in an exceptional way. He played a crucial part in India's victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup and finished as the leading wicket-taker in Test cricket in 2024 with 71 wickets.
Mohammad Amir on Jasprit Bumrah
Amir recently praised Bumrah for his outstanding performances in international cricket thus far, calling him a complete package because of his versatility in all three formats.
"I think, if you talk about fast bowling, Bumrah is a complete package. You make him play Test cricket, he will bowl with the new ball, old ball, semi-new ball. Make him play ODI or any other format, whenever the team needs him in whatever situation, he always delivers. It’s the same in T20Is as well, hence he’s a complete package and should be a role model. I feel Bumrah is the best fast bowler in the world. The rest of the bowlers have a flaw in a particular format. However, Bumrah is the best across all three formats. That’s why he’s the number 1," Amir told India Today.
Bumrah, who finished as the tournament's joint second-highest wicket-taker with 15 from eight games, was instrumental in India's most recent ICC Trophy victory during the T20 World Cup 2024. His astounding average of 8.26 and frugal economy rate of 4.17 enabled the team to take wickets at pivotal points in the match. After India's historic victory, Bumrah was rightfully named Player of the Tournament.
After taking 71 wickets in 2024, he was been awarded the coveted title of ICC Test Cricketer of the Year. After an incredible year with the ball in both Tests and T20Is, he was also named the ICC Cricketer of the Year. It is anticipated that the speedster will make his comeback in the Indian Premier League in 2025.
