Team India have their sights set on Champions Trophy 2025 title

Rohit Sharma's Team India have their sights set on the coveted Champions Trophy 2025 title. But to clinch the title India will have to get past the final hurdle in New Zealand in the Champions Trophy final.

All eyes will be on India's two old-guards in Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli who will have big responsibilities on their strong shoulders. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's roles aren't limited to the field as they are doing much more beyond that.

Right ahead of the all-important Champions Trophy final against New Zealand, India's batting coach Sitanshu Kotak revealed the mood of the team's dressing room and how the senior players are helping the young crop prepare for the big game.

While speaking to the reporters on March 7, Sitanshu Kotak said that India's senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are talking with the young guns to help them deal with the big match pressure.

"You know, senior players including Rohit, Virat, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami are talking to younger players all the time, in team meetings, everyone talks. And that is something which is priceless," Kotak told reporters ahead of the Champions Trophy final.

"They are sharing their 15-20 years of experience. They are talking to the players who have been playing for two years. So, some things obviously you learn with experience. But listening to the guys who have that experience is always valuable, and Indian team is very good with that. That is also a great environment. It's always helpful for us as the support staff as they cover more than half of the things," he concluded.

Kotak was also asked about India's knockout pressure to which he explained:

"I don't think that India had pressure of big games even two years ago. We have won the ICC event earlier as well. We didn't win in between. Other teams have played well. But that doesn't mean that we come under pressure," he concluded.

Notably, India are the only side in the Champions Trophy 2025 who are still unbeaten while the other finalist New Zealand have suffered one defeat that came against Rohit Sharma's brigade. India already have an upperhand heading into the Champions Trophy final. The only thing they need to ensure is tick all the boxes and bring home the coveted title.
