In a bizarre series of events, Australian all-rounder Tahlia McGrath has been cleared to play in the Commonwealth Games (CWG) women's cricket final against India. Tahlia tested positive for the virus and is experiencing mild symptoms.
However, the team and match officials consulted with health experts after which she was allowed to take part in the gold medal encounter at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
The toss was delayed due to Tahlia testing positive for Covid-19 before the match. She did not sit with other players in the dugout and kept her distance.
Tahlia walked out to bat in the middle overs but could not do much. She got out for a single-digit score to Deepti Sharma as Radha Yadav took a fantastic diving catch at backward point.
As per earlier Covid-19 protocols, not just the infected player but the players who have been in contact with her, were isolated as well.
