Indian spin maestros R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja bagged a massive milestone, becoming India's most successful Test bowling duo during their first Test against England in Hyderabad on January 25, Thursday.
R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja snared their 502nd wicket as a pair, surpassing the previous Indian record of 501 wickets set by legendary Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh in 54 matches. This achievement makes Ashwin-Jadeja duo the greatest bowling pairs in Test history. The record for the most wickets by a bowling duo is held by England's James Anderson and Stuart Broad, who have taken 1039 wickets in 138 Test matches. Among currently active pairs, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon are the leaders, having taken 643 wickets in 81 Tests.

England won the toss and elected to bat first. However, the decision initially didn't yield well as they lost their three wickets at the score of 60. However, Root and Jonny Bairstow steadies England's boat to take them to 108/3 after the end of first session. Root is still batting at 18 off 35 wtih Bairstow (32 off 44) at the end of 28 overs. While Ashwin got rid of Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett, Jadeja dismissed Ollie Pope.
