India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, recently disclosed that he avoids the stump mic in order to avoid imitating Rohit Sharma's antics. Fans adore Rohit's chirps from the stump mic, which causes them to become popular on social media. One of his most famous stump mic chats that went viral all across the social media was, "Garden mein ghoomne wale ladke" (Boys who leisurely stroll in the garden)

Suryakumar was recently questioned about whether boys are still moving in the yard after Rohit Sharma’s retirement from T20Is. The Indian skipper jokingly retorted that since no one moves anymore, he does not stop anyone from doing so. Additionally, he discussed his practice of avoiding the stump when addressing players.

"Nahi, mai nahi rokta hu kisi ko kyuki koi ghumta hi nahi hai. Try karta hoon door rahoon stumps se. Agar kisi ka woh specialty hai toh won unhe ke sath rahe toh zada better hai." (I don't stop anyone because no one roams around.I try to stay away from the stumps. If it's someone's specialty, then it's better that it stays with that person only)," Suryakumar said on Star Sports.

When asked if he now understands Rohit is "ye-woh" (this-that) language, Suryakumar responded in a hilarious way that he gets to hear it every time he takes a stroll in the garden.

"Haan woh jab hum ghumte rehte hai garden mai, woh sunne ko mil hi jata hai." (Yes, when we roam in the garden, we get to hear those things.)," he added.

 

Since taking over as the team's full-time T20I captain, Suryakumar has demonstrated incredible leadership. Since July 2024, the squad has played 11 games under the 34-year-old's leadership, winning nine of them and losing just one. In addition, India has now won three consecutive series under his leadership, and they are off to a fantastic start in another series after defeating England by seven wickets. When India plays England in the second T20I on Saturday, January 25 in Chennai, the Indian captain will want to maintain his perfect record.
