Wyatt smashed 75 runs off 47 deliveries against India in the first match of WT20I series.

England opener Danni Wyatt expressed her disappointment after failing to find a team in the last Women's Premier League (WPL) auction. As the upcoming auction is set for December 9, the English batter is hopeful about her prospects.

Wyatt strengthened her position with an impressive performance, scoring 75 runs off 47 balls with eight fours and two sixes in the first match of the three-game WT20I series against India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on December 6.

"Not while I was batting and not when I was walking out to bat. But it did cross my mind a few times in the morning when people spoke about it though. I was pretty disappointed last [auction]," Wyatt was quoted as saying in the post-match press conference.

"But I have completely changed my mind, so now I am just like I have done all I can, had a good summer, performed tonight, so what will be will be. I would love to be a part of the next WPL, will see what happens," she added.

Wyatt played a crucial role in rescuing her team after early wickets were taken by Renuka Singh, who dismissed Sophia Dunkley and Alice Capsey. Wyatt, along with Nat Sciver-Brunt, built a partnership of 138 runs for the third wicket to bring England back into the match. Although Wyatt became the maiden international wicket for left-arm spinner Saika Ishaque, her impactful contribution had already made a significant impact by then.

In regards to the WPL auction, there are currently 30 available slots, nine of which are allocated for overseas players. Considering the presence of numerous talented cricketers globally, including Annabel Sutherland and Chamari Athapaththu, it remains uncertain whether Wyatt will find a team in the auction.

The second T20I cricket match between India and England's women's teams is scheduled to take place at the same venue on December 9.
