With India, Australia, and South Africa already having secured their spots in the semi-finals, Pakistan's situation is precarious.

Former India captain and attractive batter, Virender Sehwag has responded to criticism following his social media post that playfully mocked Pakistan's position in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023. Sehwag's initial post, which came after New Zealand's victory over Sri Lanka, suggested that Pakistan's team prepare for their journey back home, considering the impact of New Zealand's win on Pakistan's semi-final qualification prospects.

Sehwag addressed the backlash on the social media platform 'X', pointing out the irony in people expecting positivity in response to their negative comments. New Zealand's win significantly dented Pakistan's chances of advancing to the semi-finals, prompting Sehwag's light-hearted comment.

"In the 21st century there have been 6 ODI world cups. In 6 attempts, only once in 2007 did we not qualify for the semi-finals and have qualified in 5 of the last 6 World cups. On the other hand only once have Pakistan qualified for the semis in 6 attempts in 2011," Sehwag wrote on X.

"And they come up with ridiculous allegations blaming ICC and BCCI of changing balls and pitch . Their Prime Minister mocks us when we lose to another team despite having beaten them. Upon reaching here , their player posts pictures of enjoying tea in Hyderabad with sarcasm to mock our soldier.

"The PCB chief on camera refers to our country as Dushman Mulk. And they expect love for their hate. And those preaching class, that is a two way street.  Jo Achha vyavhar kare uske saath hum bahut hi achhe, aur jo aisa vyavhar kare toh sahi mauke par soot samet lautana is my way. On field bhi, off-field bhi," he concluded.

Sehwag trolled the Pakistan cricket team with a hilarious tweet on X on November 10 (Friday). Sehwag took a cheeky jibe at Babar Azam's Men in Green on the backdrop of New Zealand's massive win over Sri Lanka in the ODI World Cup match that all but ended Pakistan's hopes of qualifying for the semi-final.

Sehwag wrote: "Pakistan Zindabhaag! Have a safe flight back home," and shared an image with "Bye Bye Pakistan" written on it.

With India, Australia, and South Africa already having secured their spots in the semi-finals, Pakistan's situation is precarious. They cling to a slim mathematical chance of overtaking New Zealand in the points table to secure a semi-final berth, adding to the high-stakes drama of their final group match.
