Highlights:

Steyn highlighted India's Mohammed Siraj, Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi, New Zealand's Trent Boult, South Africa's Kagiso Rabada, and England's Mark Wood as the pacers to keep an eye on.

Former South African fast bowler Dale Steyn has identified five pacers he believes will shine at the 2023 ODI World Cup hosted by India this team around, which will commence on October 5. However, surprisingly, the legendary pacer has not gone for Jasprit Bumrah or Mitchell Starc in his list.

While Bumrah is yet to properly announce himself at a stage like the ODI World Cup, Starc has finished as the highest run-getter in the last two editions of the competition. Hence, his choices have raised eyebrows

Steyn highlighted India's Mohammed Siraj, Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi, New Zealand's Trent Boult, South Africa's Kagiso Rabada, and England's Mark Wood as the pacers to keep an eye on.

Mohammed Siraj's impressive form leading up to the World Cup has made him India's primary pacer alongside Bumrah. Siraj's standout performance in the Asia Cup, including a six-wicket haul in the final against Sri Lanka, has been noteworthy.

Shaheen Afridi, known for his skill as one of the world's top fast bowlers, has been particularly effective against India's captain, Rohit Sharma. Their clash on October 14 promises to be a highlight. Afridi has an impressive record of 86 wickets in 44 ODI games for Pakistan.

Kagiso Rabada, a seasoned South African pacer, possesses the skills and experience to excel in Indian conditions despite a recent dip in form. Rabada has taken 144 wickets in 92 ODI matches for South Africa.

Trent Boult, the Kiwi left-arm pacer, made a comeback to the national team for the World Cup, showcasing his deadly inswingers and precision in swinging the ball both ways. Boult boasts 197 wickets in 104 ODI games for New Zealand.

Mark Wood stands out due to his remarkable pace, consistently bowling over 150 km/h, making him a challenging opponent, especially on unpredictable Indian pitches.
