England's opening batter Dawid Malan stroked an attractive century against Bangladesh in an ODI World Cup match on October 10 (Tuesday). The left-handed batter was at his devastating best and he imposed his will against a toothless Bangladesh bowling attack at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. The southpaw looked solid against spinners and at his fluent best against pacers during his 140-run knock in 107 balls. During his imperious outing, Malan stroked 16 fours and five sixes while he registered a terrific strike rate of 130.84.
It was Malan's fourth century in ODI cricket in 2023 and he is now tied with New Zealand's Devon Conway who also has four hundreds in 50-over international cricket. India's Shubman Gill leads all batter as the stylish right-handed opening batter has five centuries in ODIs in 2023.
With Gill out with a fever and scheduled to miss India's upcoming couple of matches, Malan stands a chance to match the Indian batter's tally of centuries. The Three Lions' next match is against Afghanistan and the kind of form Malan is in right now, the left-handed batter would fancy himself another century.
