Arshdeep Singh has become a force to be reckoned with in the T20 World Cup. Leading the Indian bowling attack with an impressive seven wickets in just three matches, he's proving himself to be a true asset. On June 12, he cemented his rise by setting a new Indian record. His bowling figures of 4/9 against the United States were the best ever for an Indian bowler in the tournament's history. But Arshdeep isn't just a bowling specialist. He's also demonstrating his all-round skills. While his knock of 9 runs against Pakistan might seem insignificant at first glance, it played a crucial role in a low-scoring match (India chasing 120). Those runs helped India secure a nail-biting victory by a mere 6 runs, showcasing Arshdeep's impact beyond the bowling crease.

Arshdeep Singh isn't just a bowling phenom. He's been putting in the hard yards with batting coach Vikram Rathour to become a more well-rounded player. This dedication was evident after his stellar bowling performance against the USA, when he even addressed the press conference. He revealed a surprising move during India's win over Pakistan – he lobbied to bat at number 9, even ahead of established batsmen like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. While Bumrah, particularly, has a stronger batting record, Arshdeep's confidence and proactive approach showcase his commitment to improvement.
“…Jassi bhai (Bumrah) was supposed to go before me, but I just went in after asking Rohit bhai (Sharma). They were surprised with it, but now, I have told them I will go up regardless of whatever you say,” Arshdeep told the reporters.
“I will go at nine because I faced the quickest bowlers in the last game. So yeah, that’s the plan now. I am very confident about my batting. And be it fielding or bowling, you just try to keep getting better,” he added.
Arshdeep revealed he's been honing his batting skills under the guidance of batting coach Vikram Rathour.
“We are always learning, always trying to get better at all the skills, be it bowling, batting, or fielding, because you never know when the team needs those runs. It can be two runs, four runs, anything. So, you just have to give your best. And I am trying to work as hard as possible with Vikram Bhai regarding my batting as well.,” Arshdeep concluded.
Talking about Arshdeep's bowling performance, he is roaring with the ball in the ongoing T20 World Cup. He has taken seven wickets in a span of three matches and his best show came against USA where he was adjudged Player of the Match for his back-breaking spell of 4/9 in India's seven-wicket win on June 12.
