England's star all-rounder Liam Livingstone has returned home ahead of the IPL 2024 playoffs to nurse a knee injury and get fit before the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to be held in the United States and West Indies. The English star has been dealing with muscle injuries for the past couple of years and even two early games this season after going down in the field during a tie against Lucknow Super Giants.

Livingstone has only played seven matches this season and now has returned to England to prepare for the T20 World Cup 2024. PBKS still have two matches left that they will play against Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad without the services of the English heavy hitter.

"IPL done for another year, had to get my knee sorted for the upcoming World Cup. Thanks once again to the Punjab Kings fans for all their love and support. Disappointing season as a team and personally, but as always I loved every minute of playing in the IPL," Livingstone wrote on Instagram.

Punjab Kings is one of the first teams to get out of the playoffs race. They had a disappointing season, even their captain Shikhar Dhawan couldn't play after a couple of matches due to an injury. Liam Livingstone has been a crucial part of PBKS in the past couple of years. However, this can also be his last season with the franchise as there will be a mega auction next year and he can potentially be released from the team.
