Pakistan cricket team is all set to compete in the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to be held in the West Indies and United States under the leadership of Babar Azam. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board has not named any vice-captain of their side for the mega tournament. PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi believed Babar is more than enough and capable of leading the side and does not need a deputy.
PCB chief on why Pakistan have no vice-captain
"In my opinion, Babar Azam alone is more than sufficient. This team has the best combination and is highly capable. The Pakistani team comprises excellent players with immense talent. I request everyone to cease the criticism. Post-mortems begin after losing just one match, which is not right. The boys are eagerly waiting for the nation’s support. I am confident this very team will win the World Cup," Cricket Pakistan quoted PCB chief.

In case Babar Azam has to leave the field or is not available to play a match, then PCB and selectors have given the responsibility to white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten to pick the deputy for the team.
Pakistan's Squad for the T20 World Cup 2024
The Men in Green are currently in England competing in a four-match T20I series to prepare for the marquee event. The first and third T20I got washed out due to rain, England won the second match and are leading the series 1-0. Pakistan would be eyeing to bounce back and win the final game and head into the tournament with winning momentum. However, a series loss here would be a morale crusher for the former champions.
