Pakistan's horrible outing at T20 World Cup 2024
Pakistan's T20 World Cup campaign has been a tale of two halves. Their journey began with a shocking upset, losing their opening match to debutants USA. This was followed by another disappointing defeat against arch-rivals India, where despite stellar bowling, their batting faltered.
A glimmer of hope emerged with a win against Canada. However, the victory was overshadowed by a cautious batting approach from Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, unnecessarily extending the chase.
In contrast, the USA have surprised everyone. They entered the tournament as underdogs but emerged as giant slayers. Victories against Canada and Pakistan were followed by a close fight against India, showcasing their resilience. Their impressive run culminated in a well-deserved qualification for the Super 8s, a remarkable feat for a first-time participant.
