How often do we come across love stories that begin with a friendship and then later blossom into something magical and end with happily ever after? Well, there have been numerous instances, to say the least. And one such instance transpired between Team India captain Rohit Sharma and his better half Ritika Sajdeh as their relationship matured over time and is a reminder of endless love. The meeting
Ritika, who is a sports event manager by profession, also happens to be the rakhi sister of former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh. It is believed that Rohit and Ritika first met for an ad shoot and the latter used to manage the former. Yuvraj had warned Rohit to maintain distance from his rakhi sister but destiny had something else in store.
The relationship between Rohit and Ritika started as friendship as the duo spent more and more time together, it evolved over time. Ritika used to manage Rohit's cricket engagement initially but the two started spending a lot of time together. As they got to know each other, Rohit and Ritika started dating and after a period of six years, the Indian batter surprised his lady love by proposing her at the Borivali Sports Club, Mumbai, a place where he began his cricketing career at the age of 11.
Rohit and Ritika got engaged on June 03, 2015, and soon after announcing their union, the duo exchanged rings in a grand engagement party.
The grand wedding
Rohit and Ritika tied the knot on December 13, 2015, in Mumbai’s Taj Lands Hotel. Their wedding saw some of the big names from cricket and Bollywood converge at the lavish hotel in Mumbai. Being the captain of Mumbai Indians has its perks as the Ambanis had thrown a sumptuous party for the couple before their wedding. Some of the prominent people from the country gathered for the party while Indian cricketers were spotted having an absolute gala.
Rohit-Ritika blessed with a daughter
After three years of marriage, Rohit and Ritika became parents and welcomed a baby daughter into their lives on December 30, 2018. The duo took some time to decide on a name for their lovely daughter. It was on January 06, 2019, when the Indian batter revealed the name of his daughter in an adorable Instagram post and captioned it as 'Baby Samaira'.
Ritika has been a strong pillar behind Rohit and the duo continues to give marriage goals to date.
