Playing in his last international game, Dwayne Bravo did not make an impact with the bat scoring just 10 runs from 12 balls. Despite the mediocre knock Bravo tied for the second position on the elite list of West Indies batters, which is currently led by his teammate Chris Gayle. Bravo became the joint second-highest run-scorer for West Indies in World Cup events alongside former Caribbean batter Marlon Samuels and also surpassed his Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni. The all-rounder has 530 runs from 34 games at an average of 21.20 including two half-centuries.
Bravo overtakes Dhoni
During his final international innings, Bravo went past his CSK skipper Dhoni’s tally of runs. The former Indian skipper has 529 runs from 33 games at an average of 35.26.
Gayle tops the list
The list is currently headed by Gayle with 965 runs from 33 matches at an average of 34.46 including seven half-centuries and two centuries. The joint-second on the list is Samuels who has scored 530 runs from 20 games at an average of 31.17 including four half-centuries. Two of Samuels' four half-centuries came in the final of 2012 and 2016 where West Indies emerged victorious.
Bravo’s T20I career
The 38-year-old will also retire as the sixth-highest run-scorer for West Indies in the format. He has scored 1,255 runs from 91 innings at an average of 22.01 including four half-centuries. He is also the highest wicket-taker in T20Is with 78 wickets from 91 games. Similarly, he is West Indies’ highest wicket-taker in T20 World Cup with 27 wickets from 34 games.
