After facing religious hatred on social media following India’s 10-wicket humiliating loss against Pakistan,  Indian speedster Mohammed Shami posted a photo having a few light moments with the Indian players. The photo also featured his bowling partner Jasprit Bumrah.

“#BounceBackBoys#IndiaJeetega#ShorMachaoCupLao #SabseBadaStadium #IndVsNZ #T20WorldCUp”, Shami posted with a photo On Koo app.

Furthermore, the fast bowler posted the same photo on Twitter captioning:

“Back to the grind. Had a productive training session and loved talking to our young talented cricketers. Looking forward to our next game against NZ. #TeamIndia #mshami11.”

Earlier, many Indian and Pakistani cricketers had defended Shami over the social media trolls and abuse. In fact, Indian skipper Virat Kohli heavily slammed the people who were criticizing Shami for his poor show against Pakistan.

"We're playing on the field, we're not a bunch of spineless people on social media. This has become a source of entertainment for some people which is very sad. All this drama created on the outside is based on people's frustrations," said Kohli in the press conference on Friday ahead of the New Zealand clash.

"Attacking someone based on religion is the most pathetic thing one can do. I have never discriminated based on religion. Such people are just frustrated. If people don't see Shami's passion for the game, I don't want to waste my time on it," the Indian skipper added.

India will take on New Zealand tonight in their second game of the Super 12 stage. Considering Pakistan’s three successive wins in Group 2, many fans and cricket pundits are terming the game between India-New Zealand as a virtual quarter-final. It will be intriguing to see how Shami performs against New Zealand after the unfortunate online abuse.
