When Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, there were a few inclusions and omissions that raised questions. The performances of these players in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 raise even more questions as the few of the players who did not make the bus, were performing better than the ones who have been selected. Now, a BCCI source has told Sports Tak that a review meeting can be held on October 9 before submitting the final squad to International Cricket Council (ICC).
“There are possibilities of having a review meeting just to take the feedback from selectors and captain before submitting final team,” the source revealed.
Earlier this week, the source said that there was no talk about making any changes until and unless any of the selected players get injured.
Yuzvendra Chahal, who was replaced by Rahul Chahar has been doing well in the second phase. Chahal has taken 11 wickets from five games and has an economy rate below six runs per over. Reserve players Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur have been performing well for their respective teams too. On the other hand, Rahul Chahar was dropped from the Mumbai Indians (MI) team after ordinary performances in the second leg. Suryakumar Yadav too has struggled with the bat in the second leg so far and is due for a big score.
