Suryakumar Yadav celebrates winning 1st toss on Australia tour, gets hug from Mitchell Marsh; watch viral video
India and Australia T20I captains Suryakumar Yadav and Mitchell Marsh share a hug as presenter Ravi Shastri smiles.

Story Highlights:

Suryakumar Yadav was elated to win his first toss on Australia tour.

Suryakumar made three changes whereas Mitchell Marsh made just one.

After losing two tosses on the trot on Australia tour, India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss in the third T20I of the series. After winning the toss at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, Suryakumar celebrated by pumping his fists. He got a hug from Australia captain Mitchell Marsh as well before he opted to bowl first. He had lost all the tosses in T20 Asia Cup 2025 and the streak continued on Australia tour.

Earlier, Suryakumar had said that he may have to perform a ‘puja’ as his losing streak of toss continued in Australia as well. Similarly, India’s ODI captain Shubman Gill hasn’t had much luck at the toss as well. Shastri, match referee Jeff Crowe smiled as the two captains hugged.

Here’s the video of the incident -

Suryakumar made three changes to the team combination after a comprehensive defeat in the previous game. He replaced Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav and Sanju Samson with Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar and Jitesh Sharma respectively.

“We are going to bowl first. The ball will come on nicely to the bat in the 2nd innings. Happy to take it one game at a time. We have three changes – Jitesh, Arshdeep and Washington come in," Suryakumar Yadav said after winning the toss.

Marsh made just one forced change to the side. As Josh Hazlewood left the squad to prepare for the upcoming Ashes, Sean Abbott replaced him in the side. Glenn Maxwell is yet to return to the side after wrist surgery.

"It's a belter of a wicket. Want to get off to a good start and post a big total. We have just the one change - Abbott is in for Hazlewood," said the Australian opener at coin toss.
