Australia ODI and T20I captain Mitchell Marsh feels that the upcoming series against India will be a good way for them to prepare for The Ashes that is set to commence from November 21. India's tour of Australia will begin from October 19 and will consist of three T20Is and five ODIs. It will co nclude on November 8, just 12 days before The Ashes commences.
Marsh, who is set to lead Australia in one-day cricket due to the absence of Pat Cummins, highlighted how the Baggy Greens have a massive rivalry againdt India and added that the series couldn't have come at a better time for them.
“We’ll have all the guys building towards the Ashes but everyone loves playing against India. We’ve got a great rivalry and great respect for them as a team. It’s literally perfect timing to be playing against India in the lead-up to an Ashes series. It’s going to be massive," Marsh told foxsports.com.au.
Rohit and Virat ready for comeback
This series will see the international return of both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as they have been absent ever since the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy final against New Zealand in March. The two have been selected in India's squad for the upcoming assignment and will be hoping to make a strong return.
India's schedule in Australia tour
The first ODI of the three-match series between India and Australia is set to be played at the Optus stadium in Perth. The action will then move to Adelaide where the match will be contested on October 23. The final encounter of the assignment will take place in Sydney on October 25. Then, the five-match T20I series will begin from October 29.
