Top 5 wicket-takers in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, two Indians on the list
No spinner from either side made it to the top five wicket-takers in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 as pacers got much assistance from the surfaces in Australia.

The pitches in Australia in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 were tailormade for pacers. Jasprit Bumrah tormented Australian batters. But Australian trio in the absence of Josh Hazlewood for three Tests was potent too. Here is a look at top five wicket-takers in the series.

5. Australia's left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc took 18 wickets from five Tests at an average of 28.66. Starc's best performance of 6/48 came in the pink-ball Adelaide Test. He turned out to be lethal with the new ball.

4. India's Mohammed Siraj claimed 20 wickets from five Tests at an average of 28.66 including one four-fer. Siraj played the supporting role for Jasprit Bumrah but was not the standout performer.

3. Scott Boland played three Tests in the series but found himself in top three with 21 wickets at an average of 13.19. He grabbed a six-wicket haul in the SCG Test. He became the first Australian pacer since Glenn McGrath to take 10 wickets in a Test at SCG.

2. Australian skipper Pat Cummins led from the front and helped his team regain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Cummins bowled the most number of overs in the series and took 25 wickets at an average of 21.36.

1. The top spot belongs to Jasprit Bumrah who took 32 wickets from five Tests at an average of 13.06. Bumrah bagged three five-wicket hauls in the series. He suffered a back spasm and did not bowl in the fourth innings of SCG Test.

No spinner made it to the top five. Nathan Lyon bowled more than 122 overs and bagged 9 wickets at an average of 36.88. For India, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar and R Ashwin combined to take 8 wickets.
