IND vs AUS 3rd Test Pitch Report: India's third Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test match is scheduled to take place in Brisbane. The last time India played here, the visitors won the BGT 2-1 with a historic triumph on the last day of the Test match. Three days before the Test match begins, on Wednesday, December 11, Brisbane pitch curator David Sandurski told the media that the Gabba wicket's characteristics change from the beginning to the conclusion of the season. Sandurski claimed that the venue's fresher and more worn-out wickets had 'legitimate differences'.

Gabba curator gives update on pitch

"Different times of year definitely makes it different, it can be a slightly different pitch. Pitches later in the season might have a bit more wear and tear while ones early in the season usually are a bit fresher and might have a bit more in them," the curator said while talking to media.

Sandurski said that they were not doing anything extra to spice up the wicket for the quick bowlers. Both of the series' opening Test matches have taken place on wickets that bounce well, particularly the Adelaide match when Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant struggled to navigate the spongy surface.

“Generally speaking we still prepare the pitch the exact same way every time to try and get the same good carry, pace and bounce that the Gabba is known for. We are just trying to make a traditional Gabba wicket like we do each year,” the curator added

The third match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy is the Brisbane Test match. Following Brisbane, India will play two more Test matches - one in Sydney and the last one in Melbourne. Australia hope to maintain their momentum as they enter the third Test match with a 1-1 series tie. The hosts have not won the last two Border-Gavaskar trophies which were at their home.
