India's bowling coach Morne Morkel has provided an injury update on India's superstar pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah suffered a concerning injury scare on the second day of the second Test match against Australia at Adelaide Oval. The incident gave India a big injury scare in middle of the Pink Ball Test.
During the 81st over of the Australian innings, Jasprit Bumrah faced a concerning injury scare. After bowling the third delivery of the over, he appeared to be in discomfort. Despite the setback, he managed to finish the over and continued to bowl.
The incident caused a brief moment of concern for the Indian team and fans alike, as Bumrah is a crucial member of the bowling attack. However, he recovered quickly and displayed remarkable resilience by not only completing the over but also taking the wicket of Australian captain Pat Cummins in the 85th over.
After the conclusion of the day's play, India's bowling coach Morne Morkel provided an update on Jasprit Bumrah's injury. Morkel confirmed that Bumrah was perfectly fine and had merely experienced some cramping during the 81st over.
"Firstly, Bumrah is fine and it was just cramps. Even after that [incident] he bowled and got the wickets for us. Like I said, Test cricket is a tough place, there is no place to hide," India bowling said at the post-day press conference.
When questioned about India's bowling performance Morkel said that the team had aimed for a stronger showing on the first day. However, he admitted that Indian bowlers were not up to the mark on the first day, however, performed well on the second day, particularly before Travis Head's aggressive innings.
"Yesterday (Friday), the lines and lengths could have been better, there was some extra swing too. Thought they did well today (Saturday) morning before Travis Head played his innings. He put the bowlers under pressure but that’s the way he plays," he added.

As far as match is concerned, Australia currently hold a dominant position in the second Test against India. After India's first innings total of 180 runs, Australia responded with a strong performance, led by a century from Travis Head. Their total of 337 runs gave them a big lead of 157 runs. Later, India's batting struggled on the second day as well, and they ended the day at a precarious 128/5, with Rishabh Pant (28) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (15) still intact on the crease.
