Australia star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell picked Jasprit Bumrah as the best bowler he has ever faced. He said that that 30-year-old right-arm fast bowler will go down as the best all-format bowler of all time. Bumrah is currently sitting on number 1 in the ICC Test rankings. He was the vital cog for India in the ODI World Cup 2023 and after that, he maintained his classic form in the Test series against South Africa, England, and Bangladesh this year. He was awarded the Player of the Tournament award for the T20 World Cup 2024 which was hosted by the USA and West Indies where the Rohit Sharma-led side won the title defeating South Africa in the final on June 29.

According to Maxwell, who was named in Australia’s 13-member squad for the T20I series against Pakistan on Monday (October 28), Bumrah is the best bowler he has ever faced.

“I think the best bowler I would have faced would probably be Bumrah. I think he’s probably going to go down as the best all-format bowler of all time,” Maxwell said in a video shared by ESPNCricinfo.

Maxwell further stated that Bumrah, has an unbelievable slow ball, a great yorker, and the ability to swing both ways.

“His release point, because he releases it from so far out in front of himself, almost feels like he can change where he’s bowling right at the last moment. Unbelievable slow ball, great yorker, has the ability to swing it both ways; he’s got a brilliant wrist, and he’s got a good sniff. It feels like he’s got all the tricks of a really good fast bowler.”

Bumrah is currently involved with Rohit Sharma-led India for the three-Test match series against New Zealand. The premier speedster is also part of India's squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2025 which is scheduled to start from November 22 and will be hosted by Australia. Bumrah has played seven Test matches in Australia where he picked up 32 wickets.
