The weather on both Day 4 (December 17, Tuesday) and 5 (December 18, Wednesday) will again be spoiling the fun for fans and players. It is expected to be as frustrating as it was Day 3. Where the rain only allowed 13.2 over on Day 1 and 33.1 on Day 3. It can now also hamper the play on the remaining two days of the Gabba Test.
According to Accuweather, the chances of rain on Days 4 and 5 of the Brisbane Test are 100% and 89%, respectively, for the following two days. The prediction calls for a lot of nocturnal rain, with showers also anticipated to occur around 11:00 AM local time. Even while there is a 20–30% chance of rain during the day, it will remain gloomy, which could result in another stop-start situation.
A thunderstorm is predicted to hit at 1 PM local time on Wednesday, December 18, which is the Test's official last day. This could potentially ruin the day. When play takes place over the next several days, India will need to be careful to bat effectively and not waste their wickets.
India in spot of bother
At the end of stumps day 3, the visitors were already down to 51/4 with KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma on the pitch. Both of them will resume the play on Day 4. Indian top-order once again collapsed as they could not stand in front of Australia's lethal pace attack. Yashsavi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant returned to the dugout for single-digit scores.
Now, India have to ensure that they do not lose constant wickets and build a good partnership. The weather can lead the match towards a draw and dismiss the Aussies with a chance of gaining a 2-1 lead in the series.
