India's star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, is renowned for his attacking batting style, often displaying aggression even in challenging situations. During the second innings of the Adelaide Test between India and Australia, Pant once again defied expectations.

After Virat Kohli's dismissal in the 15th over, India found themselves in a precarious position at 66-3. With the team under pressure, Pant was expected to adopt a cautious approach and consolidate the innings. However, he had other plans.

Rishabh Pant disrespects Scott Boland with first-ball boundary

Being true to his aggressive nature, Rishabh Pant wasted no time in making his mark. On the very first ball he faced right after Kohli's dismissal, he danced down the pitch and smashed Scott Boland, a bowler who had been particularly threatening, for a boundary through the mid-off region. It was a classic Pant shot, one that he has executed with great success throughout his career.

Not just this, Pant's also entertained the spectators with his audacious stroke play. In a moment of pure brilliance, he executed a reverse scoop off Scott Boland, sending the ball soaring past the slip cordon. However, while executing the shot he fell to the ground which left everyone in splits. The incident occurred in the third ball of the 17th over, when Pant, in an attempt to counter the length delivery, switched his stance and played a right-handed hook shot. The crowd was left in disbelief as the ball sailed past the slips and raced to the boundary. Even the commentators were amazed by the audacity of the shot.

Even Australia's legendary batter Matthew Hayden, who was commentating during the ongoing Test, was loss for words after witnessing Pant's stunning shot.

"I don't know what the players from yesteryears would say about that," said Hayden while commentating.

After Kohli's dismissal at 8, Rohit Sharma too returned to the hut in no time. But Pant paired up with Nitish Reddy and took India's scoreboard to 128/5 by the end of Day 2. Both Pant and Reddy are intact on the crease with scores of 28 and 15 respectively. Australia earlier rode on Travis Head's sensational 140 to post a big total of 337 while replying to India's 180.
