On the eve of the second Test match against Australia, which will be played at the Adelaide Oval, on December 6, Indian captain Rohit Sharma spoke to the media. Speaking to the press, he addressed the young, up-and-coming players on the Indian team's courageous mentality. The rising talents Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, and Yashasvi Jaiswal were commended by Rohit for their mindset. The three have played a key role in India's victory in the game's shortest format this year. The Indian captain emphasized their desire to score runs for the team and maintain team interest over individual results.

"Their minds have just one thing-how can we win the match for our team? They don't think about hundreds. When you think this way, individual performance also happens. If you want to win, you have to perform. This is an automatic process. If your first focus is on making the team win, then automatically it's reflected in their big scores. The primary focus is on winning matches. If not from bat, then they want to contribute with fielding or bowling. It is their natural mindset," Rohit told the media.

The mindset and bold attitude of the younger generation amazed Rohit. He compared the new generation to his own and expressed admiration for their will to win games for India under pressure.

"Today's generation of boys. They are very fearless and don't travel with a lot of baggage. Not suitcases, haha.. But in general, the pressure. Jaiswal, Gill and Pant, there are a different generation of cricketers. When we burst on to the scene, our minds used to hover around how we could score runs, we used to put a lot of pressure on ourselves. Every gen is different. Today's boys are very different and it favours them also. Whenever I talk and listen to them," he said.

Jaiswal smashed a spectacular century and made 161 runs in the first Test match in Perth. This was also his fourth in Test cricket. With his 37-run knock in the first innings, Rishabh Pant saved India from a first-innings collapse. After missing the first Test because of a thumb injury, Gill will be keen to return to Adelaide. In India's practice match against the Australian PM's XI, he struck a smooth fifty.
