Young India batter Shubman Gill who missed the first Test match against Australia has joined the squad and currently featuring in the ongoing pink ball Test taking place in the Adelaide clash. The young batter missed the first match because he got injured during the team's practice session for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He fractured his thump while fielding in slips at WACA stadium during match simulation. 

The young batter has a good record in Tests against Australia and he was seen in good touch in the pink ball clash as well. Shubman Gill who joined KL Rahul after Yashasvi Jaiswal got out on a duck. He scored 31 runs in his first appearance of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

The incident happened during the 14th over when Scott Boland bowled a full and just outside off delivery. Gill, who was ready to take on the shot, slammed an excellent square drive however Nathan Lyon stationed at the point saved a possible boundary. Gill who was looking disappointed after missing on a boundary cussed himself. 

In a moment of heat,  Gill was caught hurling abuse on himself when he failed to make the desired shot the audio of the incident went viral on the social sphere, here is the clip. 
 

After that incident, Scott Boland picked up Gill's wicket. Interestingly, he dismissed Gill three times in the longest format of the game. 

Earlier in the game, after opting to bat India opener Jaiswal lost his wicket on a duck and party from Gill, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant no other batter managed to score in double digits in the ongoing clash.
