Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj made headlines in the first innings with his relentless bowling and also for a moment that flustered Litton Das, which ultimately broke Bangladesh batter's resistance. On Day 4 of the first Test match between India and Bangladesh, Siraj tried to test Bangladesh batter's temperament once again, only this time it was Najmul Hossain Shanto and not Das.
The incident occurred in the 34th over when the Indian pacer tried to rattle Shanto, who was batting beautifully at the time, with a conspicuous glare. Unlike Das, who didn't back down and walked towards Siraj and signaling that he didn't hear anything, Shanto remained calm and composed. Shanto opted not to indulge in any kind of banter and walked away from the crease with a smile on his face.

Siraj's reaction came after Shanto hit back-to-back boundaries off his bowling. The first boundary was a beautiful on-drive and the second was a classical flick towards the square leg boundary.
Shanto's resistance, however, was finally broken by Siraj's pace bowling partner Umesh Yadav, who sent the Bangladesh batter back to the pavilion after he had scored 67 runs off 156 balls with the help of seven boundaries. Before being dismissed, Shanto registered a gritty 124-run opening partnership with debutant Zakir Hasan.
Chasing a daunting target of 513 runs, which truth be told, looks like a far-fetched dream, Bangladesh openers displayed impeccable application to frustrate Indian bowlers. Shanto and Hasan both notched half-centuries on the opening session of Day 4 and helped Bangladesh reach 119/0.
