After a jittery start to India's final Test of the five-match series against England, which saw the team reduced to five wickets in 98 runs, Rishabh Pant's blistering century inspired a brave comeback as the middle order tackled the English bowlers. Pant completed his fifth Test cricket century in just 89 balls and was widely praised for his performance.
His innings also earned the appreciation of the coaching staff, especially head coach Rahul Dravid, who jumped off his seat in joy as Pant completed a much-needed century that will definitely boost his confidence. The video of his celebration, alongside Mayank Agarwal, is one to savour and has also gone viral on social media

To recap, England captain Ben Stokes chose to bowl first after winning the toss and his bowlers made the most of the opportunity. Pacers James Anderson and Stuart Broad did not allow India's top order to settle into the game, dismissing both Gill and Pujara in the first session itself as rain forced the teams into an early lunch.
But things were no different after lunch as well, with the Indian team losing five wickets for just 98 runs. Then it was more about whether the side could get past the 200-run mark, which seemed unlikely. But Pant came onto the field and turned the match in India's favour.
Pant's innings included 15 fours and a six, and alongside him, Ravindra Jadeja was playing the role of an anchor. He lost his wicket for 146 runs off just 111 balls, but Jadeja continued the onslaught as India finished Day 1 on 338 runs with the loss of just seven wickets. Jadeja is currently in charge of the batting unit, with 83 runs to his name off 163 balls.
