Watch: Rishabh Pant jumps on James Anderson's 137 KMPH ball, leaves the pacer in awe

Rishabh Pant was India's saviour on Day 1 of the ongoing fifth Test match against England at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham on Friday, July 1. Pant demonstrated a lot of restraint, skill, and technique. Batting fearlessly against England, the 24-year-old batter constantly targeted the bowling of veteran pacer James Anderson.

In one instance, Pant also took two to three steps in front to hit Anderson for a four straight down the ground. Anderson was stunned and in awe after this attempt.

Anderson was the initial aggressor against India, taking the wickets of Shubman Gill, Cheteshwat Pujara, and Shreyas Iyer. But Pant's heroics was enough to turn the tide back in India's favour. In one ball, Pant walked out of the crease to hit a ball that came at a speed of 137 KMPH in the 28th over, for a boundary.

Not only were the fans shocked, but Anderson himself did not believe his eyes, and was seen with a cheeky giggle soon after the ball while interacting with Pant at the non-striker's end.
