England are leading 2-1 in five-Test series against India.

Former India cricketer Dodda Ganesh suggested the Shubman Gill-led side not to look beyond Sai Sudharsan for the number three position in Tests. Sudharsan, who is currently featuring in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, batting at number three, scored 116 runs in two Tests against England.

Team India are facing a problem with the number three batter since Cheteshwar Pujara was dropped from the national side. Dodda Ganesh, who coached Kenya, believes that Sai Sudharsan is the right pick for the slot.

"Don’t look beyond Sai Sudharsan for the no 3 slot. He is young and the most perfect batter to make that slot his own" wrote Dodda Ganesh.

After Cheteshwar Pujara, current India captain Shubman Gill used to play at number three, but as Virat Kohli announced his Test retirement, Gill has taken over his number four batting spot in the longest format of the game.

Coming back to the India vs England Test series, hosts England are leading 2-1 after the fourth Test match ended in a draw and now both teams are featuring in the fifth and last Test match of the series. The ongoing clash is the last chance for the Shubman Gill-led side to level the series. While writing this copy, the Test match has been halted by rain at The Oval. Before the clash was suspended due to rain, Shubman Gill and young Sai Sudharsan forged India's comeback after England made early inroads in the opening session of the last Test. India piled up 72/2 in 23 overs, with Gill and Sudharsan unbeaten with scores of 15(23) and 25(67).
