Shoaib Bashir ruled out of remaning Two Tests against England.

Star spinner Shoaib Bashir, who picked up Mohammed Siraj's wicket to guide England to a 22-run thrilling win against India in the Lord's Test, has been ruled out of the remainder of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 after getting injured in the same Test. Bashir, who was featured as a specialist spinner in the third Test, got injured during the fifth ball of the 78th over.

Bashir bowled a flighted delivery to Ravindra Jadeja, who ran down the pitch and smashed it hard and low towards the spinner. The England off-spinner tried to get both hands to the ball, but he just didn't have enough time. The ball hit him on his left hand, and he went down on the ground, staying there for a bit before getting up and calling for help.

"England men’s spinner Shoaib Bashir has sustained a fracture to his left finger and has been ruled out of the remainder of the Rothesay Test series against India. He is scheduled to undergo surgery later this week," England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said in a statement.

"England will name their squad for the fourth Test at Emirates Old Trafford in the next couple of days," ECB said.

The physio came out to check on him. It looked like he wasn’t feeling too well, so the 21-year-old had to leave the field for treatment. Since Bashir was supposed to bowl the 80th over, Joe Root stepped in to finish the one he had started. Root ended up bowling seven deliveries, and once the 80 overs were done, England chose to take the second new ball right away.

On the other camp, India vice-captain Rishabh Pant also got injured in the same Test match but skipper Shubman Gill revealed that he is fit for the upcoming Test after his scans.

“Rishabh went for scans. There is no major injury so he should be fine for fourth Test in Manchester,” Gill said in the post-match press conference. Gill also didn't spell out whether Jasprit Bumrah will be available for the Manchester Test which starts in nine days time.

England are currently leading 2-1 in the five-Test match series of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 after registering a 22-run win against India. The fourth Test match of the series will take place from 23 to 27 July at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in England.
