India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak revealed that pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is fit, but there have been no conversations about his inclusion for the fifth Test match against England. Concerns around Jasprit Bumrah's injury loomed large when the legendary speedster was seen limping on Day 4 of the fourth Test match against England at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester.
While attending the media in London before the fifth Test match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Kotak revealed that the speedster is fit.
“Bumrah is fit. No conversation has been had about his inclusion for the last game, but we will take a call on his workload soon” said Sitanshu Kotak in the pre-match conference.
Notably, India head coach Gautam Gambhir and Jasprit Bumrah himself confirmed that he will play only three Test matches of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, citing workload management. He has already represented India in the first, third and fourth Test of the series.
Apart from Bumrah, India vice-captain Rishabh Pant was also ruled out of the fifth Test match. Pant fractured his toe during the fourth Test match. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Narayan Jagadeesan as his replacement. There is are chance that Dhruv Jurel can be seen keeping wickets in the last Test of the series.
England are currently leading 2-1, the fifth Test match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 is the last chance to level the series in London.
In other camp, England have announced their updated squad for the fifth Test match where they have included Jamie Overton in their squad for the fifth Test match.
